Celebrate this season of motherhood with a beautiful mini portrait session designed to capture love, connection, and the little in-between moments that mean everything.
These special Mother’s Day mini sessions are perfect for mums with babies, little ones, big kids, or even a gorgeous multi-generational portrait with Grandma.
Mother’s Day isn’t really about perfect smiles — it’s about connection. The way your child wraps themselves around you. The way they still reach for your hand. The way you look at each other and burst into giggles.
These mini sessions are a chance to slow down for a moment and create something beautiful together.
At my Inner West studio, or Sydney Park, I’ll guide you gently through the whole experience so it feels easy, relaxed, and full of heart. No stress. No stiff posing. Just lovely, natural portraits of the people who matter most.
So often, mothers are the ones documenting everyone else. You deserve to be in the photos too!
You’re the one taking the photos, organising the outfits, packing the snacks, and making the memories happen. But your children will one day want to see you in those memories too.
Not just how you looked — but how it felt to be held by you, laughed with you, and loved by you.
That’s why these sessions matter.

Hi, I’m Nikki, the front woman for Lion and Cub Photography. I’m much more than ‘just a photographer’: it’s my passion, and I’ve been in the game for over 25 years and counting because I’m exceptional at what I do. I’m also a teacher, a mum, a creative entrepreneur, and a proud part of Sydney’s eclectic arts scene, all of which influence who I am and my work.
My greatest skill is finding a way to help people relax in front of the camera: kids, babies, pups, anyone who is shy – I’ve got you. And the moment you relax, that’s when the magic happens.

Where do the sessions take place?
All Mother’s Day mini sessions take place at The Aerie at Tortuga Studios in St Peters, Sydney. Or you may prefer an outdoor session in Sydney Park.
How long is the session?
Each session runs for 20 minutes, which is perfect for little ones and gives us plenty of time to create a beautiful set of portraits.
Can Grandma join in?
Absolutely. These sessions are lovely for grandmothers and grandchildren too.
Can I include sibling photos?
Yes. I’ll capture a mix of mum with the children, sibling portraits, and individual portraits where time allows.
What if my child is shy or wriggly?
That’s completely normal. I keep sessions relaxed and gently guided, and I work quickly to capture natural moments as they unfold.
What should we wear?
Soft neutrals and gentle tones work beautifully. Once you’ve booked, I’ll send through easy styling tips.
How do we choose our images?
After your session, you’ll receive access to a private online gallery where you can view your images and select your favourites.
Can I buy this as a gift?
Yes — a Mother’s Day mini session makes a beautiful gift.
