Lion + Cub Photography understands the love you have for your fur babies – they’re a part of your life, right?
Tortuga Studios is a pet-friendly space so we can create amazing portraits indoors, plus we know the best outdoor locations for a more natural setting.
A 60-minute family and pet photography session includes:
We’ll chat over the phone to discuss your favourite outdoor locations in Sydney for a photoshoot, or whether you’d prefer a studio session. We will also talk about your pet, so I know what they like and what makes them respond.
Your pet photos should reflect both of your personalities, and we have a few favourite outdoor locations in Sydney for you to choose from. If a studio session is more your style, your pet photoshoot can be held at our St Peters studio.
If you have a different location in mind, please let us know. You might have a favourite beach or prefer a lifestyle session in the comfort of your home.
Whatever the location, your pet photography session will be a natural, fun-filled and enjoyable 60 minutes.
Once your images are hand-edited, you’ll receive a private online gallery of your curated, retouched photos. Simply select the images you want to download (and upgrade your package if you want more).
To secure your session date, a $200 deposit is required, with the remaining balance based on your digital Cub Collection.
To select treasured wall art or an album of images, book an in-person appointment where we can look at all the images, choose artwork, and design how it will look. This can be done via Zoom if that is more convenient.
We’ll help you choose your favourite images and show you the best artwork to display your photos around your home.
This is the most exciting part of the whole experience!
We’ll let you know as soon as your artwork is ready to collect from our Sydney studio – all that’s left to do is display stunning images of you and your pets.

Deposit information
At the time of your booking a non-refundable deposit of $200 is required for family, maternity, pet and couples sessions to secure your date. This is required within 48 hours and if not paid, your scheduled date and time will be forfeited. Your remaining package balance is due no later than a week before our scheduled photo session.
Yes! Pets are family. You’re welcome to bring your well-behaved dog to the studio, and I’ll capture a mix of portraits with your pet included plus images without them too.
A few simple ones to keep everyone safe and relaxed:
That’s normal — and honestly expected. I work fast and keep it low-pressure. We’ll start with some calm moments, use treats and simple prompts, and I’ll photograph your pet in short bursts. If they need a break, we pivot and bring them back in later.
Cats are welcome if they travel calmly and you’re comfortable managing them in the studio. Cats can find new spaces stressful, so I’ll always recommend bringing a secure carrier and a familiar blanket/toy. (And we’ll keep doors closed and safety a priority.)
Bring:
If your pet has a ‘settle’ mat/blanket, bring it — it helps them feel at home.
Totally your choice. Most people love doing a mix: a few with the pet (hello, heart-melters) and then the rest focused on you/ baby/ the family. We’ll plan this together.
Yes — with safety as the priority. Pets must be calm and closely supervised, and we’ll use poses that keep baby safe and supported. If your pet is unpredictable around baby, we’ll keep things separated and capture connection in a safe way (for example, baby in arms + pet beside you).
The studio is an indoor space with controlled lighting and styling setups. Doors remain closed, and we keep pets supervised and secure at all times. There are sometimes other pets in the co-working space, but we are careful to introduce them first.
It happens — no shame. Please bring essentials (bags, wipes) and let me know immediately if there’s an accident so it can be cleaned properly. If a pet causes damage beyond normal wear and tear, repair/cleaning costs may apply (I’ll always handle this kindly and transparently).
A quick walk beforehand helps (especially for dogs). Bring treats, keep collars/ leads looking tidy, and avoid feeding a huge meal right before the session if your pet gets sluggish or gassy. If grooming matters to you, a brush before you leave home goes a long way.
